West Brom in talks with Campbell

West Brom have held preliminary talks over a move for former England defender Sol Campbell, it is understood.

Reports this morning claimed the 35-year-old was set to undergo a medical at the Hawthorns. While that appears not to be the case, Campbell’s agent Sky Andrew is believed to have met with Baggies officials to discuss a move.

Albion refused to comment on the speculation.

However it is believed the West Midlands club have held initial dialogue with Andrew and are keen to be kept informed should Campbell’s contractual situation open up the possibility of a deal.
