Crouch back on the bench for Spurs

Tottenham striker Peter Crouch was back on the bench for the Barclays Premier League clash against Burnley after scoring a hat-trick in midweek against Preston in the Carling Cup.

It meant Niko Kranjcar was given his first start for Spurs following his move from Portsmouth, with Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane partnered in attack.

Centre-back Sebastien Bassong was passed fit after head and knee injuries, so Michael Dawson was among the substitutes and Tom Huddlestone dropped into the defence.

David Nugent, who was signed for Portsmouth by Spurs boss Harry Redknapp two years ago, was given his first start for the visitors after scoring twice against Sunderland last week.
