Kapo out for Latics

Midfielder Olivier Kapo is Wigan’s only injury absentee as they prepare to launch a new era under Roberto Martinez at Aston Villa.

Kapo has not yet recovered from knee ligament damage sustained on Wigan’s pre-season trip to Austria last month.

New boss Martinez could hand debuts to striker Jason Scotland and midfielder Jordi Gomez, who played under him at Swansea City last season.
