Xabi Alonso has passed his medical at Real Madrid and is on the verge of completing his move to the Bernabeu, the Spanish club have confirmed.

Xabi Alonso has passed his medical at Real Madrid and is on the verge of completing his move to the Bernabeu, the Spanish club have confirmed.

The 27-year-old midfielder arrived in the Spanish capital this morning after a fee, believed to be £30m, was agreed between Liverpool and Real Madrid.
