The Irish Football Association President Raymond Kennedy has announced that Nigel Worthington will be offered a new two-year contract to stay on as Northern Ireland Manager.

The Irish Football Association President Raymond Kennedy has announced that Nigel Worthington will be offered a new two-year contract to stay on as Northern Ireland Manager.

Worthington's current deal expires in December after the end of the 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Northern Ireland have risen to 27th the latest FIFA rankings and are second in their World Cup qualifying group.

Former Norwich and Leicester boss Worthington took over from Lawrie Sanchez as Northern Ireland Manager in June 2007.
