Bohs make maiden Tallaght trip
Bohemians travel to Tallaght Stadium for the first time to take on Shamrock Rovers in tonight’s Premier Division clash, kick-off 7.30pm.
Gypsies boss Pat Fenlon has a very strong squad to choose from as Gary Deegan is their only injury concern. The centre-midfielder is struggling with a hamstring injury.
Fenlon said: “I am really looking forward to the game, I think everybody is.
“It’s our first trip to Tallaght, It’s going to be an interesting night.
“We’re disappointed that we lost (last week), we’ve got to put it behind us and move on. We need to play as good as we did in the first half against Derry and continue that for a bit longer.”
Ian Bermingham (calf) and Sean O’Connor (bruised bone) remain sidelined for Rovers, while there are doubts about Dessie Baker (hamstring), Sean Webb (back) and Corie Treacy (calf).
“We’re slowly reducing the lengthy injury list we had,” said Hoops boss, Michael O’Neill. “We were down to 16 players last week but it’s a bit better this time around.
“Fortunately, Sean O’Connor suffered no damage when he was hurt against St Pat’s, but he does have bone bruising which causes a lot of discomfort. He should be back in action pretty soon.
“We’re aware of the significance of this game to the supporters, and it’s another big night and yet another full house at Tallaght Stadium. Of course we’re looking forward to it.
“We’ll be able to see what progress we’ve made since the last time we played them, which was very early on in the season. Although we lost 2-0 I felt we played quite well.
“That was also a very good game of football. I’d be looking for a similar quality this time around – but with a different result.”
