Ten-man Dundalk have to settle for point
Bray Wanderers 1 Dundalk 1
Simon Kelly gave away a penalty and was later sent off as Dundalk had to settle for a point at the Carlisle Grounds.
Both sides hit the woodwork, Bray twice, before Dundalk deservedly took the lead on 42 minutes.
Declan O’Brien, who had earlier headed against a post, met George O’Callaghan’s cross to flick the ball past Chris O’Connor.
But a harshly awarded penalty, for handball against Simon Kelly after a super tackle on Jake Kelly, gifted Bray the equaliser with Kelly sending Dundalk's debutant keeper Ryan Coulter the wrong way from the spot.
Despite Dundalk dominating the second half, Bray’s Chris Shields shot against the angle of the bar and post on 67 minutes.
Bray striker Paul Byrne also hit the woodwork on 81 minutes before Simon Kelly was sent off for a foul on Gary McCabe three minutes later.
John Mulroy might then have won it for Bray in stoppage time but for a terrific save from Coulter.
