The Football Association of Wales have confirmed they are investigating the coin-throwing incident that marred yesterday’s south Wales derby between Cardiff and Swansea.
Referee Mike Dean was struck on the head by the coin in the closing stages of the first half at Ninian Park and required medical treatment to stop blood coming from the cut.
