Last-minute Byrne goal takes points for Bray

Paul Byrne scored a dramatic last-gasp winner tonight to give Bray their first victory of the season.

A floodlight failure at half time delayed the restart for half an hour.

But Bray resumed the brighter with Jake Kelly firing them in front from a 73rd-minute penalty after Mark Quigley had just had a goal disallowed for Saints.

St Pat’s thought they’d salvaged a point when Stuart Byrne’s looping head beat Chris O’Connor four minutes into stoppage time.

However, there was a sting in the tail as, two minutes later, Paul Byrne struck to head home Dane Massey’s cross to give Bray all three points.
