Aiden McGeady remains the main injury worry, with the Celtic winger's knee problem due to be assessed by medical staff in advance of this afternoon's training session.

Italy, who beat Montenegro 2-0 on Saturday, head into tomorrow's game with a two-point lead in Group Eight of the qualifiers.

However, Ireland assistant coach Liam Brady has suggested that the Italians are uneasy about facing the Irish and has cited their choice of a venue outside a major city as evidence of this.
