Ameobi back for Toon

Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear has taken a gamble on the fitness of striker Shola Ameobi for today's vital derby clash with Sunderland.

The 27-year-old, who had missed the previous five games with a knee injury, has been recalled to partner Andy Carroll in attack in the absence of Michael Owen, Mark Viduka and Obafemi Martins.
