Stilic not ready for Celtic move - Lech

Celtic have been told to forget about a January move for Bosnia-Herzegovina midfielder Semir Stilic – because his club believe he will be worth even more in the summer.

The 21-year-old Lech Poznan player has been linked with a £2.5m move to the Scottish champions.

Stilic this week pleaded with Lech to let him join Celtic during the transfer window. But sporting director Marek Pogorzelczyk claims the youngster is not ready for the rigours of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.

“Semir is not yet physically prepared for this transfer,” Pogorzelczyk said in the Daily Express.

“He has had trouble holding on for 90 minutes in the Polish league and the requirements abroad are much greater.

“During the spring, he will have to do some special physical work in training and he’ll be more competitive in the summer and his price will be higher.”

Pogorzelczyk added: “I have spoken to the player and his agent and I don’t think they really want to change clubs right now. I think this is some sort of game.”

Stilic said earlier this week: “I don’t want to wait because I don’t even know if Celtic would still want me in six months’ time.”
