West Brom central defender Leon Barnett and striker Roman Bednar are pushing for recalls to the side for Sunday’s Premier League clash against Manchester City.

Barnett, who last started a game against Aston Villa in September, is fully fit again after knee surgery, while Czech Republic international Bednar is challenging Luke Moore for a starting role in attack.

Midfielder James Morrison, who was forced off by illness at half-time during last weekend’s 4-0 defeat at Sunderland, should retain his starting role.

Spanish midfielder Borja Valero has also been unwell this week but is expected to figure.

Team (from): Carson, Zuiverloon, Hoefkens, Meite, Barnett, Donk, Olsson, Robinson, Cech, Kim, Morrison, Greening, Valero, Koren, Teixeira, Brunt, Bednar, Moore, Beattie, MacDonald, Pele, Kiely.
