No injury worries for City ahead of Ford Cup final clash
Derry City and Bohemians go head-to-head in Sunday's FAI Ford Cup final at the RDS with both sides intent on finishing the season on a high, kick-off 3.00pm.
City boss Stephen Kenny has a full squad to choose from as City look to recreate the heroics of their 2006 Cup success.
Kenny's assistant Alan Reynolds said: "This is obviously a big game for both clubs and their supporters and I think that neutrals would have liked to see us both in the final.
"Bohs are worthy (league) champions and as such we know that we will have to be at our best to overcome them.
"It has been pointed out by many commentators that they failed to beat us this term, but that counts for nothing in a Cup game.
"Hopefully our lads can perform with confidence and to the level that we know they are capable of and we have a good blend of youth and experience in the side.
"Our support this year has been fantastic, always vocal and colourful. Hopefully we will give them something to sing about come Sunday evening!"
Bohemians go into the decider looking to claim the league and Cup double having dominated the domestic league campaign this season.
Gypsies boss Pat Fenlon must plan without the suspended Jason McGuinness and Anto Murphy who is cup-tied.
Otherwise Fenlon has a full squad to choose from.
Fenlon said: "Having already won the league title, the FAI Ford Cup final presents us with the opportunity of achieving a league and cup double, an achievement that does not happen very often in eircom League of Ireland football.
"In order to secure the FAI Ford Cup, we have to overcome a huge obstacle.
"Derry City have performed very well all season and, in my opinion, this match will see the two best football teams in this country square up against one another.
"FAI Ford Cup Finals are always massive occasions and today's game will be no different.
"This is a very important competition and it is a great opportunity for this club and this group of players to win another trophy."
He added: "The players have performed superbly throughout the season. That is a credit to them and to their professional attitude.
"What really sums them up is their desire to win. It would have been easy for them to take their minds off the league for the last few matches but they did not do that and they continued to perform to the same high standards as before.
"I know from having worked with them all season and for several seasons before in the cases of some, that they have a tremendous will to win and that will stand to them in the final."
