Bohemians are on course for the double after blowing St. Patrick's away in an FAI Ford Cup semi-final thriller before a packed Richmond Park.

Having scored twice inside three minutes early on, Bohs effectively ended the game when adding a third goal just before the break.

St. Pat's were unlucky to be penalised for a dubious free-kick after a challenge by Dave Partridge on Stephen O'Donnell on 14 minutes.

But their was no doubting Killian Brennan's sublime free-kick that dipped over the wall, past the diving Barry Ryan and into the net for the opener.

Poor defending saw Saints concede again two minutes later when Gary Deegan latched onto Neale Fenn's flick to turn Partridge and see his feeble shot trickle over the line after hitting a post.

Skipper Owen Heary then got the goal of the night when bursting up the right and into the box, past Damien Lynch, before rifling a shot from a tight angle to the net off the underside of the crossbar.

Saints threw everything at Bohs on the resumption and Keith Fahey beat the offside trap onto Dave Rogers' ball over the top to shoot past Brian Murphy to get them back into the tie on 53 minutes.

Glen Crowe should have restored Bohs' three goal margin six minutes later, but shot wide when clean through on goal.

Bohemians will meet either Galway United or Derry City, who contest the other semi-final on Sunday, in the final at the RDS on Sunday, November 23.
