Anthony Stokes set for Blades switch
Sunderland striker Anthony Stokes is expected to join Coca-Cola Championship side Sheffield United on loan until January later today.
The Republic of Ireland international has travelled to South Yorkshire with a view to sealing the temporary switch after struggling to break into the first team at the Stadium of Light on a regular basis.
Black Cats manager Roy Keane, who has £6million frontman Kenwyne Jones and youngster Martyn Waghorn close to returning from injury, has decided to let Stokes head for Bramall Lane to get some much-needed football under his belt.
Keane said: “I had a chat with him yesterday and it looks like he will probably go there until January.”
