Mascherano back for Reds

Midfielder Javier Mascherano has recovered from a calf injury and will be included in Liverpool’s squad for tomorrow’s Champions League Group D home clash with PSV Eindhoven.

The Argentina international missed Saturday’s Merseyside derby victory over Everton due to the problem, and now manager Rafael Benitez has a difficult choice to make over who partners Steven Gerrard in midfield.

Otherwise the Spaniard has no other injury problems as he plans for his 250th game in charge of the club. Liverpool started the group stage well with a win in Marseille, and another victory against the Dutch champions will put them in a strong position to complete qualification for the knock-out stages ahead of schedule.
