The Polish Football Federation has been suspended by the country’s sports ministry for allegedly failing to address corruption issues.

The Polish Football Federation has been suspended by the country’s sports ministry for allegedly failing to address corruption issues.

Robert Zawlocki has been named temporary chief of the federation at the request of Miroslaw Drzewiecki, the minister for sport and tourism.

“The Arbitration Tribunal, at the request of the sports minister, on Monday decided to name Robert Zawlocki as an administrator at the Polish football association and suspended its management,” said a statement on the federation’s website.

The Polish Olympic Committee’s arbitration court allegedly found irregularities in the functioning of the federation during an audit.

Zawlocki revealed a letter has been sent to UEFA president Michel Platini to reassure him the organisation of Euro 2012 – which Poland are due to co-host with Ukraine – will continue unaffected.
