Brazil omit Ronaldinho
Manchester City trio Robinho, Jo and Elano have both been named in Brazil’s squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Colombia next month but there is no place for Ronaldinho.
The 28-year-old has yet to find his form since his summer move from Barcelona to AC Milan, although club-mate Kaka returns from a knee injury.
Chelsea defender Alex, Liverpool midfielder Lucas and Manchester United’s Anderson have all been named in the squad.
Former Arsenal stars Gilberto Silva, now at Panathinaikos, and Julio Baptista (Roma) are also included.
Brazil, second in the South American qualifying zone standings, will face Venezuela on October 12 before hosting the Colombians three days later.
