Berbatov left out of Spurs squad to face Chelsea
Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov was not included in the squad for the Premier League clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The Bulgaria international, who has handed in a transfer request in pursuit of a move to Manchester United, was not deemed focused enough to face Sunderland last week and nothing since has changed the mind of head coach Juande Ramos.
It meant Darren Bent was in attack on his own, with Giovani dos Santos supporting.
Right-back Chris Gunter was also given his first start of the season.
Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari had Michael Ballack and John Mikel Obi sidelined, and brought in Juliano Belletti.
