West Brom have had an £800,000 offer accepted by Dutch Eredivisie side NEC Nijmegen for centre-half Jonas Olsson.

The left-sided player has agreed personal terms with the Baggies and he is expected to complete his Hawthorns move over the weekend – pending a successful medical.

The fee for the former Sweden Under-20 and Under-21 international could rise by a further £360,000 in performance-related add-ons.

Olsson, 25, is renowned for being a tough-tackling defender, good in the air and comfortable on the ball.

After moving to Holland from home-town club Landskrona in 2005, he has been a regular in the Nijmegen side for the past three years.
