Sligo earn point against ten-man Galway

Mauro Almeida's fourth goal of the season earned Sligo a point, but they left Terryland Park knowing they should have taken all three against ten men.

Alan Murphy, back at the club for a third stint, rifled home a 33rd minute free-kick to give Galway the lead.

Almeida shot home the equaliser two minutes into the second half after good work by skipper Conor O'Grady.

Galway defender Alan Keane was shown a straight red card on 63 minutes, but Sligo failed to make their numerical advantage pay as bottom of the table Galway were happy with a point.
