Drogs overcome early setback

Drogheda United 2 UCD 1

Drogheda United 2 UCD 1

Drogheda had to come from behind tonight as they needed a penalty to see off the challenge of struggling UCD.

The champions' early pressure counted for nothing as College punished calamitous defending to take lead five minutes before the break.

Keeper Jamie Ewings and central Graham Gartland came for a cross and missed it, leaving Ronan Finn to shoot to the net.

Richie Baker headed home Paul Keegan's free kick from the left to level on 66 minutes.

Shane Robinson then won it for Drogheda in their last match before facing Levadia Tallinn in the Champions League by firing home a penalty after a handball from a corner seven minutes from time.
