Spain top FIFA rankings, Republic climb one spot

Spain are the new world number one-ranked side after their victory at the European Championship but England have fallen six places to 15th – just one spot above Scotland.

The Spanish moved up three places to depose last month’s leaders Argentina after their victory over Germany in the final of Euro 2008 on Sunday.
