Jean Tigana has ruled out the possibility of becoming the next France coach should Raymond Domenech be sacked.

The former Fulham and Monaco boss admits he is flattered by speculation linking him to the role, but he has no interest in it.

“I was once a candidate but my name always gets mentioned,” Tigana told L’Equipe.

“It’s flattering, but now I have nothing to say. I know I refused the post twice.”

The 52-year-old Tigana, who won 52 caps for France, has been out of the game since May 2007 when he quit Turkish side Besiktas.

He led Fulham to promotion to the Premier League and into the UEFA Cup in 2000 but was sacked in April 2003.

Domenech’s position is being reviewed by the French Football Federation after a dismal performance in Euro 2008, where they failed to progress beyond the group stage.

An announcement will be made on Domenech’s future by the FFF on July 3.
