Carsley completes Birmingham switch

Midfielder Lee Carsley has completed his move from Everton to Birmingham today after passing a medical.

The 34-year-old Republic of Ireland international agreed a two-year deal at St Andrews last month after turning down a new contract at Everton.

Carsley is Alex McLeish’s first summer signing following Birmingham’s relegation to the Coca-Cola Championship.

Birmingham-born Carsley, who has 38 caps to his name, joined the Toffees from Coventry in 2002 having previously played for Derby and Blackburn.
