Brennan brace sends Bohs' fans wild

Killian Brennan scored twice against his hometown club - the winner a dramatic stoppage time penalty - to move Bohemians up to second in the Premier Division table tonight as champions Drogheda finished with 10 men.

Brennan struck with a stunning free-kick right on 45 minutes to find the top corner of Jamie Ewing's net, despite the keeper getting a faint touch to the ball.

Bohs got well on top early in the second half, but wasted good chances that fell to Jason Byrne, twice, either side of a terrific save from Ewings from Liam Burns.

Drogheda then drew level from a fluke on 73 minutes when Ollie Cahill's volley took a wicked deflection off Owen Heary to loop into the net over Brian Murphy.

Drogheda had midfielder Stuart Byrne sent off on 85 minutes for a second booking following a foul on John Paul Kelly and looked to be holding on for a point as the watch ticked into the third minute of stoppage time.

A foul by Ewings on Glen Crowe however gave Bohs a penalty which Brennan audaciously dinked to the net, sending Ewings the wrong way.
