Knee surgery for O'Neil

Middlesbrough midfielder Gary O’Neil is out of tomorrow’s Barclays Premier League clash with Bolton after undergoing surgery to repair a knee ligament problem.

O’Neil, who would have been suspended for the next two games anyway, will miss the remaining four games of the campaign, but hopes to return to training during pre-season.

Robert Huth (foot) and Andrew Taylor (ribs) remain on the injured list, as does striker Mido (hernia).

Provisional squad: Schwarzer, Turnbull, Young, Grounds, McMahon, Wheater, Pogatetz, Boateng, Arca, Downing, Shawky, Rochemback, Cattermole, Johnson, Aliadiere, Alves, Tuncay.
