Dogged Sligo knocked Derry off the top of the table with a battling display at the Brandywell.

Sligo frustrated Derry, particularly in the first half, but still had the woodwork and keeper Richard Brush to thank to keep a clean sheet.

Brush first excelled to make a point blank save from Conor Sammon on ten minutes from Owen Morrison's cross.

Midfielder Morrison then rattled the Rovers bar a minute before the break form a 25 yard free-kick.
