Irish U17s reach Euro Championship finals

The Republic of Ireland's under-17s have secured a place in the European Championship finals this May.

The side go through thanks to a 2-0 win over Portugal at Terryland Park last night, with John Sullivan and Gavin Gunning scoring in the second half.

Germany beat Greece in the other group game, but it wasn't enough to deny the Republic of Ireland top spot.
