Tottenham are set to make a new approach for Fred on Thursday, according to the Lyon striker’s agent.

Paris St Germain and Spurs are believed to have had initial offers turned down by the Brazil international, who wants to leave Les Gones after losing his place in the first team.

However, Rodrigo, Fred’s brother and agent, claims the English side are going to return with another bid.

“Yes, we are meeting with Damien Comolli, Spurs’ sporting director,” Rodrigo said in French daily L’Equipe.

“He is coming with a new offer. If it is good, Fred will sign for Tottenham.”

Rodrigo was set to meet with Spurs officials on Wednesday.

However, the postponement on Tuesday night of Lyon’s Coupe de la Ligue tie with Le Mans, which will now take place on Wednesday, means the talks were put back.

Lyon are reported to be holding out for €12m for Fred, who has a year and a half left on his contract at the Stade Gerland.
