Stephen Ireland considering international retirement

Stephen Ireland is said to be considering retiring from international football.

The Manchester City midfielder has recently courted controversy with his decision to sit out Ireland's drawn games with Germany and Cyprus.

And, according to City boss Sven Goran Eriksson, Ireland will take a break from Irish duty for the next year with his long-term future yet to be decided.
