Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is hopeful Egyptian striker Mido will return for tomorrow’s Barclays Premier League clash with Chelsea after missing the last three games with a groin strain.

The news will come as a timely boost to Southgate whose side head into the match after a run of three straight defeats which has plunged them to within two points of the relegation zone.

South Korean Dong Gook Lee is also back in contention but Jeremie Aliadiere is still ruled out with a hamstring strain and Robert Huth (ankle) and Matthew Bates (knee) are also still out.
