Elliott injured for Germany game

Stephen Elliott has withdrawn from the Irish squad for this weekend's Euro 2008 qualifier against Germany at Croke Park.

The Wolves player picked up a hamstring strain while training in Dublin yesterday and is now returning to his club.

Elsewhere, John O'Shea and Andy Reid remain doubtful for Saturday's game after only taking part in light training today.

Germany coach Joachim Low, meanwhile, is warning his side not to become complacent despite being within touching distance of the Euro 2008 finals.

Germany can seal their qualification with a draw against Ireland at Croke Park.

Torsten Frings will lead the team out despite only just returning from injury, while Jens Lehmann is set to continue in goal despite losing his starting place at Arsenal.
