Redknapp makes 10 changes for Carling Cup tie

Sylvain Distin was the only player who kept his place as Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp made 10 changes for tonight’s Carling Cup third round clash with Burnley at Turf Moor.

Redknapp elected to rest virtually the entire team that won down the road at Blackburn 48 hours earlier, with the likes of Matt Taylor, David Nugent and Benjani Mwaruwari all starting.

Clarets boss Steve Cotterill made five changes to his in-form side, including a recall for Alan Mahon who had been ruled out for the last three games with a thigh strain.
