Curtis Davies will finally make his Aston Villa debut in tomorrow’s Carling Cup third round visit of Leicester.

Curtis Davies will finally make his Aston Villa debut in tomorrow’s Carling Cup third round visit of Leicester.

The former West Brom defender has recovered from a hamstring problem and will play alongside either Martin Laursen or Zat Knight.

Villa manager Martin O’Neill is poised to make several changes from the side which overcame Everton, with the likes of Shaun Maloney, Stiliyan Petrov and Isaiah Osbourne in contention.

However, striker John Carew is out for up to six weeks with a knee ligament problem.

Provisional squad: Carson, Taylor, Sorensen, Mellberg, Davies, Laursen, Knight, Barry, Osbourne, Petrov, Gardner, Agbonlahor, Reo-Coker, Berger, Young, Harewood, Moore, Maloney.
