Smith set to seal Magpies switch

Alan Smith is expected to seal his £6m move to Newcastle from Manchester United later today.

The Magpies look to have beaten off the likes of Everton and West Ham to secure the signature of Smith, who has been deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.
