Bolton enjoyed a comfortable victory over last season’s UEFA Cup finalists Espanyol in front of only 6,507 fans at the Reebok Stadium tonight.

Portugal U-21 star Ricardo Vaz Te grabbed a brace, heading home in the 21st minute before doubling the advantage five minutes before the break after collecting Kevin Davies’ flick.

Veteran Gary Speed headed a third in the 85th minute from Nicolas Anelka’s free-kick.
