Donati lands at Parkhead
Celtic will today unveil Italian midfielder Massimo Donati after the 26-year-old passed his medical with the club yesterday.
The 26-year-old will be unveiled at a Parkhead press conference at 11am following his £3mmove from AC Milan.
Donati flew into Glasgow yesterday and to put the seal on a four-year contract with the Scottish champions.
Donati began his career at Atalanta before a £10m deal took him to the San Siro in 2001.
In recent seasons he has had loan spells at a number of Serie A clubs, including Parma, Torino and Sampdoria, and last season was a regular for Atalanta.
Celtic reportedly fended off strong competition from Palermo, Sampdoria and Atalanta to sign the player.
Meanwhile, Chris Killen believes Celtic landed a loudmouth when they signed Scott Brown – but he has backed his old Hibernian pal to do his talking on the pitch.
Both players opted to quit Easter Road for the Scottish champions this summer.
Killen, 25, snubbed a contract extension at the Edinburgh club – as well as a move to Cardiff – to join Celtic on a free transfer, while Brown was recruited in a £4.4m deal.
The price tag proved to be too hefty for Old Firm rivals Rangers, who had also targeted the highly-rated midfielder as Walter Smith strengthens his own squad for the campaign ahead.
But Killen believes Rangers’ loss will be Celtic’s gain and he has backed Brown to be a valuable addition both on and off the park at his new club.
He said: “He’s a lot of mouth is Scotty and everyone knows that, but he has got the quality to back it up.
“Scott was a great guy to have around as he’s so enthusiastic. When things were going wrong, it would be Scott who would say or do something to lift the boys.”
“He looks to push the team forward. He’s a great asset to have and he’ll be great for Celtic. Everyone knows how good a player Scott is, he’s enthusiastic, he’ll give 110% week in, week out.
“You know what you’re going to get from him and it’ll be great to play with him here.”
