Sociedad stay tight-lipped on Coleman

Real Sociedad will not comment on the club’s possible interest in acquiring the services of former Fulham manager Chris Coleman.

Real Sociedad will not comment on the club’s possible interest in acquiring the services of former Fulham manager Chris Coleman.

Coleman reportedly arrived in San Sebastian today and is linked to succeed Miguel Angel Lotina in charge of the Basque outfit.

Lotina resigned shortly after Real Sociedad were demoted to the second division for the first time in 40 years.

“We cannot comment on who will be the team’s next manager or sporting director until after Saturday’s administration council meeting,” said Real Sociedad’s press office.

Coleman’s possible arrival will only take place should the current administration council be ratified.

Former Sociedad and current Wales manager John Toshack has been mediating with the current club administration to bring Coleman to the Anoeta stadium.

The 36-year-old Coleman and Cardiff City boss Dave Jones are reportedly the two main candidates to guide the club next season in the Segunda Liga.
