Houllier linked with Lyon exit
Former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier is close to leaving six-times French champions Lyon, according to reports.
Houllier has steered Lyon to their last two titles since succeeding Paul Le Guen at the Stade Gerland.
However, reports in the French press suggest a parting of the ways could be imminent.
"I can confirm nothing," a Lyon spokesman told PA Sport.
"There is a scheduled press conference tonight to look forward to tomorrow's game (against Nantes).
"That's all I can say."
The former France and Liverpool coach has maintained Lyon's domestic supremacy, but has failed to make a serious challenge for the Champions League.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas had stated that he would endeavour to keep Houllier on board but seemed to be preparing for every eventuality last week.
Aulas said last Sunday in remarks reported by L'Equipe: "A good president must have foresight.
"I don't envisage the departure of Gerard Houllier but I have planned ahead with the board and I will not be deprived."
Houllier has been linked with the coaching vacancy at Manchester City.
