Cork City face Drogheda United tomorrow night at United Park, with the Rebel Army looking to make up ground on the home side.

Manager Damien Richardson will be without the services of young defender Seán Kelly who has suffered a fractured cheekbone.

The City boss also has concerns over defender Brian O’Callaghan, midfielder Cillian Lordan and forward John O’Flynn, who have knee, rib and thigh injuries respectively.

Richardson will give all three until the last possible minute to prove their fitness, and it is possible that all will undergo fitness tests in advance of the game.

It is the first of three important games in the space of a week, with City travelling to Belfast on Monday to face Linfield in the Setanta Sports Cup Semi Final, before taking on pace-setters St. Patrick’s Athletic at Turner’s Cross on Thursday night.

"Drogheda are in the middle of a magnificent run, and that is when I like to face teams," said Richardson. "It is always a challenge to face teams when they are on a good run, and that is a challenge I enjoy facing."

"We need to get over the disappointment of the result in Bray and the injury time penalty we conceded. A good result tomorrow in Drogheda is the best way to overcome that disappointment."
