Defender Emmanuel Eboue shrugged off a groin injury to play the full 90 minutes against Newcastle on Easter Monday. Midfielder Denilson is pressing for a return to the starting XI after warming the bench at St James’ Park.

Captain Thierry Henry (groin and stomach), Robin van Persie (broken foot) and Theo Walcott (shoulder) are all sidelined.
