A Tottenham fan attending tonight's UEFA Cup match in Seville has accused Spanish police of "throwing their weight around" after crowd trouble flared up tonight.

Less than half an hour into the quarter-final first leg at Sevilla's Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium, trouble erupted in the enclosure housing the 4,000 Spurs supporters.

The disturbances were in the corner of the stadium where the away fans were located.

Baton-wielding riot police entered the section and seats and punches were thrown.

Daniel Wynne of Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust told Sky Sports News: "After the equaliser, we saw there was a bit of animosity down in the lower tier.

"Police started throwing their weight around, for want of a better term.

"The supporters were trying to calm things down but it looked like the Spanish police, from where we were, started jabbing at them with batons."
