McClaren uses defeat for motivation

England coach Steve McClaren is happy for his players to use the misery of defeat in Croatia as extra motivation for their return to Euro 2008 duty in Israel this weekend.

McClaren’s men slumped to third in the Group E table as a result of an atrocious October, which saw them held to a home draw against Macedonia before slumping to a loss in Zagreb when the performance was far worse than the eventual 2-0 scoreline.
