Sligo topple Galway at Terryland Park

Managerless Sligo ruined Connacht neighbours Galway's return to the Premier Division to take all three points at Terryland Park.

Sligo's left-back Keith Foy fired a free-kick narrowly wide before Galway awoke to give the 2,500 crowd some cheer with the best chance of the first half on 22 minutes.

Chris Armstrong set up Barry Moran to bring a good stop from Richard Brush.

But Sligo were the better side and got their deserved lead on 52 minutes when Gary Curran finished off a move involving Rafael Cretaro and Adam Hughes.

Jason McCartney then added the second on 68 minutes with a stunning volley.
