City stage stunning comeback to claim replay
FT Bristol City 2 Middlesbrough 2
Bristol City staged a tremendous fightback to claim a fourth-round replay at Middlesbrough on February 13.
The Coca-Cola League One side came back from two goals down at the break, after Aiyegbeni Yakubu and Malcolm Christie appeared to have put Boro well in command at the break.
In a five minute second-half spell, City scored through Scott Murray and Richard Keogh to thrill a sell-out 19,000 plus crowd at Ashton Gate.
City then sent on an extra striker in Jennison Myrie-Williams for Noble, followed by Alex Russell for Skuse – while Boro replaced Christie with Jason Euell.
Yakubu could have had a penalty when he went down under a Keogh challenge, seconds before Fontaine was replaced by Craig Woodman.
Boro sent on Adam Johnson for Morrison with five minutes left.
Euell was then booked for complaining to referee Poll, after being manhandled to the ground by Keogh on the edge of the box.
Boro mounted a late flurry, but brave City fully deserved their second crack at the Premiership big boys.
