Schmeichel signs for Falkirk

Falkirk have signed Manchester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel on loan until the end of the season.

The son of former City and Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel will be available for Saturday’s Bank of Scotland Premier League clash with Dunfermline, subject to international clearance being given in time.

The 20-year-old, who has had loan spells at Darlington and Bury, was effectively fourth-choice keeper at Eastlands and City manager Stuart Pearce is keen to secure the youngster more first-team experience.
