De Silva set for Toffees return

Brazilian midfielder Anderson da Silva could soon be set to kick-start his Everton career.

Brazilian midfielder Anderson da Silva could soon be set to kick-start his Everton career.

The player has been loaned out to Malaga following administrative difficulties after his move from Uruguayan side National Montevideo.

Chairman Bill Kenwright said: “We couldn’t secure his player registration because he didn’t have a British passport.

“He was supposed to have a passport by the January window, then by May. By June we were getting fed up, not by the player but by the people around him promising the passport would be ready.

“We believe he eventually got a passport as he has been able to play in Spain this season and there is a possibility he could be joining us in the next few weeks.”
