Wise moves for Heath

Leeds manager Dennis Wise has made Coventry defender Matt Heath his second loan signing at Elland Road.

Wise, who drafted in Reading goalkeeper Graham Stack shortly after taking over from Kevin Blackwell, has moved to shore up a leaky defence that has conceded 15 goals in the last five matches.

Heath, 25, has completed his medical and will initially stay at Leeds until January 1.

“This is a great opportunity for me,” Heath told the club’s official website, www.leedsunited.com.

“I was told I could find somewhere on loan and things have happened really quickly. This is a great club with a great set-up. Thorp Arch is out of this world.

“I know that we’re scrapping for the points at the moment, but I’m looking forward to the challenge and can’t wait to get started.”

Heath, expected to go straight into Leeds’ squad for Saturday’s clash with Colchester, played alongside his new manager last season when Wise had a spell as a player at the Ricoh Arena.
